Trump Soho

Thursday, July 26th, 2007

The shining star that will tower forty-five stories above the corner of Spring and Varick Street in Manhattan is the Trump SoHo Hotel Condominiums. As the area’s first luxury hotel condominiums, Trump SoHo has been designed with the world-traveler in mind. There will be 413 fully furnished condominium units, each with 430-800 square feet of living area. The condo interiors will be designed by Fendi and include marble flooring, bronze bathroom fixtures and panoramic views of New York City’s biggest attractions.

Expecting to break ground this summer, Trump SoHo hotel condominium will offer travelers and investors lots of rewards, including an in-house restuarant with bar, retail space and a state of the art business center with adjacent conference rooms. For those who insist on keeping to their exercise regimen even while on business, the Trump will offer a 6500 square foot fitness center and spa with a heated pool. In-room spa treatments can complement a hard day at the gym. Finally, visitors who don’t want to spend a night on the town or stuck in their room might find a good book to read at the hotel’s private library.

In Donald Trump’s own words, Trump SoHo will offer so many amenities so that “you won’t need to leave the hotel if you don’t want to.“ For longer stays, this means that visitors will be able to take advantage of everything from in-room spa treatments to twenty-four hour room service. If you should still choose to venture from the hotel, you’ll have plenty to do; this trendy SoHo neighborhood has a myriad of restaurants, art galleries and designer stores to visit.

The road to completion of Trump SoHo has been fraught with red tape. Amid protests, the city only recently approved construction of the tower in an area that is zoned for manufacturing. Nevertheless, that isn’t discouraging Trump or the sponsors of the project, Bayrock/Sapir Organization LLC. Local interest in the hotel condominium has also increased as people realize that they can purchase a guestroom for their own use, family use, or rent it out to weary travelers looking for a high-class, yet authentic Manhattan experience. 101 Warren

Monday, July 23rd, 2007
Unique is the word best used to describe 101 Warren. From a maze reminiscent of Stephen King’s movie “The Shining,” to the private pine tree forest towering five stories above the Earth, this condominium development is intended for those eclectic souls who long for a connection with the natural world but just can’t leave the urban life. The 35 story, mixed-use structure is almost self-sufficient, with a whole food market and a Barnes and Noble bookstore on the first floor. All
of this is set in Tribeca, the cultural hub of Manhattan, which has become synonymous for its renovated residential warehouses and its artsy feel, including the yearly Tribeca film festival.
Although the area has also become well known for its pricy environment, 101 Warren’s focus on generously lit rooms and open plans, and the penchant for “sky” homes focused on as much air as possible make the price well worth it. Being close to downtown doesn’t hurt the price-worthiness either.
One of the best things about 101 Warren is the pleasing variety of living styles and designs. Definitely not a cookie-cutter development, the residences here come in five different templates; large town homes with terraces, rooftop duplex homes with a view, flexibly spaced lofts, penthouses and “sky homes” that boast floor-to-ceiling glass windows and wrap-around terraces. Homes range from the small 500 square foot residence to those that extend to include over 4,000 square feet of living space. The unique quality of 101 Warren does not mean the development doesn’t offer the typical resident attractions. Commissioned contemporary work by Roy Lichtenstein, among others, adorns the public lobby and serves to welcome new residents in a big way. In addition, the development has a door attendant and 24-hour concierge service, along with an on-site parking area and residential storage units. Include a media center and the 8400 square foot Pavilion with a private health/fitness center, a spa, outdoor decks and a huge children’s play area, and 101 Warren offers residents a full package.[ Contact us

The Lucida

Monday, July 23rd, 2007
The Upper East Side of Manhattan has something for everyone., including recreation, shopping, dining, and plenty of places to find a home. The 21-story Lucida is one of those places that once visited, is impossible to forget. It is
the Upper East’s first LEED-certified “green” building. It has a sustainable design, including the following features:

  1. Landscaping irrigated only by rainwater, which severely limits the amount of processed water use.
  2. Energy efficient design for low energy consumption, which means less carbon dioxide emissions
  3. Maintenance of indoor air quality; outside air is filtered into the rooms,
    and indoor pollutants avoided.
  4. Increased natural lighting through the use of a glass skin
  5. Use of renewable materials like bamboo, cork and palm wood in construction
  6. Use of natural vegetable dyed carpet for carpeted areas

The Lucida is dedicated to minimizing the building’s impact on the environment. But even more importantly, it is dedicated to keeping its residents healthy and environmentally aware. La Palestra’s fitness and wellness center boasts sky lit indoor pools and a fireplace. Personal trainers complement the state-of-the-art exercise equipment. And so, residents can exercise in peace, an in ground playground designed by Kidville, NY keeps the little ones (and the young at heart) busy.
Just as the outside of The Lucida sends a unique message to the world, individual rooms have a class all their own.Glass design illuminates the interiors; solid oak floors keep each two to fiv e bedroom condominium efficient in its own way. A spacious ten-foot ceiling, along with expansive windows, makes the outdoors seem closer. And a cast iron soaking tub and nickel silver rain shower work with a bamboo, maple and marble vanity to truly bring the efficiency of nature indoors.

Theamenities of The Lucida finally bring it home for any resident. An outdoor environment is encouraged with private terraces, balconies and rooftop gardens. A 24-hour door attendant allows for late night strolls, and a ten-foot fireplace in the lobby brings natural warmth to the urban setting. A private wine cellar brings residents back to ancient times, while a bicycle storage room encourages car-free transportation. [ Contact us ]

15 Central Park West

Friday, July 20th, 2007

With 15 Central Park West, architect Robert A.M. Stern has combined the strength of Indiana Limestone with a façade of over 40% windows. In a time when limestone is deemed outmoded and too expensive as a building
material, Stern has invested in the future of the area and reinvented it as a functional and beautiful option at the same time. Residents of 15 Central Park West have as their playground one of the most popular city parks in the world. However, the types of high rollers who live here don’t have time for such casual pleasure. Denzel Washington and Jeff Gordon are two of the first to sign the dotted line. The remaining 199 condominiums have also been sold.

Reminiscent of many “two-tower” designs that are popular for the area, 15 Central Park West is composed of two distinct buildings, one 20 stories and the other 43 stories. In between is a walled-in open space, also referred
to as the courtyard. The central feature of the courtyard is the turnaround driveway, the “motor court” with motorized sliding gates. Each tower has its own lobby, with the larger, 35×45 foot offering inviting residents and visitors alike to enjoy one of two grand fireplaces and gaze at the columns of limestone and marble.

Residents of 15 Central Park West choose between 1-4 bedroom homes, each with high ceilings and a light, airy design that contribute to the contemporary, regal feel. The average size of a condominium is 3000 square feet, although the duplexes and full-floor penthouses span nearly twice that in square footage. Each condo has a custom-designed kitchen and bathrooms with beautiful walk-in showers and separate tubs. While the condominiums are a drawing point to the building, the amenities are the deal-sealers. The complex offers its residents a private in-house chef, a screening room, private library with fireplace, and an option to rent one of 30
private climate controlled wine rooms, each with an octagonal tasting table that seats up to eight connoisseurs. Residents may purchase one of many guest quarters for use by domestic help or guests. And for the health-oriented, residents have access to the 14,000 square foot fitness center and 75-foot lap pool with a shimmering “sky” light. Actually, it isn’t air that residents see when they look through the glass ceiling above them, but the water shimmering from the courtyard pool above.

225 West Chelsea

Wednesday, July 18th, 2007

West Chelsea has always been known as New York’s contemporary art spot. Now
there is a new spot for art-lovers to see. The 11-story luxury condominiums at 520 West 19th Street are located just between New High Line Park and the waterfront Hudson River Park. Residences range between 2-5 bedrooms, with the more popular two and three bedrooms boasting 1460-2090 square feet.

The area used to be industrial, but has changed into a very popular night area, a restaurant row along 10th avenue offering plenty of eating opportunities for the casual restaurant fan.

Chelsea market, a city block long, offers other shopping and dining experiences,
all a walk away from home. The first thing visitors will be blown away by is the lobby, which offers terracotta clad columns, marble and granite details around the lobby, as well as storage units on the lower level. The lobby is always a good place to find information, for it is manned
twenty-four hours a day.

From outside, 520 W.19th Street brings a splash of color to the artistic district of Manhattan with its midnight blue terracotta facade; giving away its contemporary feel is the curving designs of the buildings overhangs. Floor
to ceiling glass brings light in and a touch of flair. The living rooms offer privacy and space with plenty of light to contrast 5″ black oak wood floors. The kitchens are decked out with designer stainless steel appliances, and each unit comes with an Axxis/Nexxt washer and dryer.
Finally, the bathroom brings it all together with marble or trartine vanities, tub walls and decks, and custom designed medicine cabinets.

This area of Manhattan doesn’t see much foot traffic, but that might be because there is so much construction going on…construction has begun for a 1.5 mile park which is scheduled for completion in 2008, and plans are underway for a seven acre planted promenade, which will connect Gansweoort Market historic district, West Chelsea and Hudson yards. The area already has a park, seasonal stage, fireworks, public preserve and a beautiful grassland preserve. The Hudson River gives residents more opportunities to enjoy their days off, with access to a beach and a small boating facility, as well as a ballfield. Chelsea piers is next, and it is geared for the sports enthusiast with a sports center and a 30 acre sports complex.

225 Rector

Wednesday, July 18th, 2007

Imagine looking out your window and seeing the symbol of American freedom on a daily basis. How about Ellis Island, the Staten Island Ferry? At 225 Rector Place, residents always have something to do when they’re feeling active,
and something to look at on those lazy days. There are 24 stories of views at 225 Rector, and each one is unique.

Just like the rest of the building, each room has its own unique feel. While the lobby feels like an upscale bank lobby with its double-height ceiling, limestone floors and 12-foot bronze-framed door, the lounge is more like the Rec. room
on the star ship enterprise. Large widows overlook Rector Park, and each piece of furniture has a crisp and futuristic appearance. Residents can relax here, or catch a movie in the custom designed screening room.

The Rector lobby is manned twenty-four hours a day, and that is good, since there is so much to do around the area that residents come and go all night. Around town, residents can catch city concerts at Battery Park, or take their dogs for a good jog at the dog run.

There is a community ball field, and a 1.2-mile esplanade. Tons of restaurants surround 225 Rector, whether residents are looking for family places to eat, or a night on the town. And if they don’t feel like eating out, there is no worrying about going to the store down the road for food. Right off of the lobby is a cold storage area for delivered groceries.

The current social trend is all about keeping in shape. 225 Rector has a 3000 square foot bi-level gym, circuit training, oversized windows to enjoy the view, and flat screen televisions to catch Oprah while exercising. And with a 4000 square-foot sky-lit pool, as well as a sauna and spa, residents will never want to get out of the water. Of
course, with a roof terrace sporting a view of the Statue of Liberty, they may reach a compromise and sit in the enclosed lounge to dry off, maybe fix a snack in the fully equipped kitchen area.

When it is time to go home, there is a lot to go home to. Each condominium is airy and pristine. The living rooms offer expansive windows and fumed oak floors. And if residents haven’t had enough of the water, they can lounge in their own deep soaking tub

District NY

Tuesday, July 10th, 2007

Within short commute of Tribeca, Soho, Greenwich Village and Gramercy Park is a new name in luxury condominium living. District New York, anticipated to become
available for occupancy in spring of 2008, is located in part of the world’s financial center, the northern section of the financial district. Its central location is not its only advantage, however. Though the square footage is smaller than many of the more prominent luxury offerings (with
the average two beds, two-bath condominium offering approximately 1300 square feet), there is no wasted space.

From international designer Andres Escobar’s custom décor to smart technology that can control lighting, climate and security with the touch of a button, everything about District says style. Residents will like the oversized windows and 11-foot ceilings in the living room and bedroom. And for those who truly want the luxurious life, the penthouses have floor-to-ceiling glass, private balconies or terraces, and open-air hot tubs.District offers residents a wealth of personal services, including twenty-four hour concierge access, individual storage rooms for each room, cold storage, and convenient parking, Amenities include a private screening room, billiards area, and library with a cozy fireplace. For the fitness aware, it has a pool and spa area, and a fitness center with a myriad of perks, including an indoor lap pool, 16-jet spa, aerobic areas and technologically advanced exercise equipment that can help residents find their health while they find their swimming legs.

Although they say that internal beauty is more important than what is on the outside, District could win a title for both inner and outer beauty. The building overlooks downtown Manhattan; on the roof, the view is complemented by a 12,000 terrace with pools, cabanas and chaise lounges, allowing residents a place to get a bird’s eye view of
the city. Each suite is uniquely designed with the personal touch of designer Alta/Rossetto; wood doors with satin etched glass panels highlight a contemporary Italian-style kitchen, which is available in a variety of styles and colors. Spacious bathrooms are decorated with porcelain tile floors and walls, Italian mirrors, frameless glass showers, and a vanity counter with dual basin sinks. Select condominium owners can enjoy bathing in a custom designed six-foot alcove tub. In all, perhaps the biggest advantage to living at DistrictNY is the flexibility that residents have in apartment designs, whether they prefer light and airy, traditional, or contemporary.

Soho Mews

Sunday, July 1st, 2007

The chic crowd has a new crib. Blending in perfectly with Soho’s natural cast-iron architecture, Soho Mews represents the best in Manhattan living. And unlike many of the newer offerings of the area, Mews doesn’t toot its own horn. Gwatmey Siegel, whose previous multi-story residential offerings include the 18-story Astor Place Condominium /Retail building, has chosen to attract attention by NOT attracting attention. Its multi-styled glass façade adds ambiance and depth to an already attractive neighborhood.

Soho Mews consists of two buildings connected by a courtyard, also called
a ’mew,’ which means “hideaway.” One building houses condominiums, while the other contains luxurious town homes with private back yar

Soho Mews offers the same modern conveniences as other residential condominiums in the area, including: A

  • 24-hour doorman
  • Comprehensive concierge service
  • A state-of-the-art fitness centes
  • An attended, underground parking garage
  • The added advantage of the 10 year 421 (a) tax abatement for condo owners

In addition, Mews also offers its residents a full membership, with benefits, to the New Museum of Contemporary Art. Those who don’t fall in love with the Mews when they see it from the outside will fall in love once inside. Soho Mews homes boast a spacious and cheery interior, with floor to ceiling windows, ten-foot ceilings, and sharp Jet Mist granite floors. A glance at the beautiful French walnut paneling reveals the work that the designers put into creating this home.

A walk through the kitchen might not take long, but you will want to slow time down to enjoy its crisp, airy lightness. Soho Mews’ kitchens boast Balsatina slab countertops, an Insinkerator food disposal and appliances by Gaggenau, Miele and Sub-zero. The washroom is nothing short of luxurious. With a 6-foot east iron tub and a frameless glass shower enclosure, potential buyers may just want to take the room for a test run. As an added bonus, builders installed a time-controlled heated flooring that ensures that your feet will never chill after a shower.

Soho is one of Manhattan’s most interesting neighborhoods. Rich in history and teeming with cultural activities, most of the world knows this area of old industrial buildings and warehouses as it was in the fifties and sixties, as an artist haven. But the neighborhood has since been built up and reinvented. As trendy now as it is expensive, Soho is for the one who wishes to experience life, not just live it.
